Year 9 Camp
I am very proud of the Year 9 girls who all faced the challenges of five days at the ‘Adventure Alternatives’ site, in leafy green Woodford. They learned a lot about themselves and one another as they interacted with the surrounding environment. These are not experiences that can be created at school and present unique opportunities to face and question their personal boundaries. It was well worth the effort.
I would like to share with you a prayer 9.3 wrote after camp as a reflection:
Thank you for the opportunity to develop our friendships within our year further and discover how much is often done for us. Thank you for the facility we stayed at and the hard-working staff who kept us safe and busy. Thank you for this chance to understand how fortunate we are to be in warm homes, with running water and comfortable beds, surrounded by families who love us. Thank you for allowing us to become aware of our food and water wastage, kindness to animals and the sustaining of our environment for the future. We learned all of these new skills by your grace. Thank you Lord for being there beside us as we continue our journey, Amen.
