Students help make our community cleaner and greener
Congratulations to Tessa Buzzo and Sarah McFarlane for their participation in the Student Environmental Leadership Network (SELN) Program. Their dedication in planning and coordinating a Stuartholme vegetable garden this year is to be admired. Lord Mayor Graham Quirk and Brisbane City Councillors presented the girls with their Certificates of Appreciation at City Hall on Thursday 3 November.
The SELN Program is an environment-specific leadership program for Year 10 students from Brisbane. The program provides students with the knowledge and skills to develop and lead behaviour-change projects in their school and local community.
Participants are supported to identify environmental issues and work together to plan and implement projects to help make Brisbane’s schools and communities cleaner and greener.
