Sony Camp – medical volunteers needed
Stuartholme School and St Laurence’s College annual Sony Foundation Children’s Holiday Camp is for primary school aged children (ages 5-11) who have a special-need.
The Sony Camp takes place over three days, Saturday 17 to Monday 19 September at Stuartholme School Toowong, using the Day school and Boarding facilities with a range of entertaining and safe activities provided for each special-needs child.
To add to the experience each young guest will be matched with two Year 11 and Year 12 students who will take the opportunity to care for, provide companionship and entertain their child over the three days in what is a unique and life-changing process for all involved. All of the various activities and events of the three days will be supervised by professional medical care as well as staff from Stuartholme and St Laurence’s.
The objectives of the Sony Camp are:
- To provide a wonderful and safe camp experience for the young guest.
- To allow families of the young guest to obtain some respite.
- To provide a Service Learning experience for students from Stuartholme and St Laurence’s College.
