Message from the Principal

Dear Parents, Caregivers and Friends,

This week I advised that following a review of the Leadership Team structure, I have decided to restructure the work and positions within this team.

A number of factors influenced my decision including:

  • The overlap of separate roles.
  • A school of under 700 students having four Deputy Principals.
  • The timing as Leadership Team contracts are near completion.

I have given this matter a great deal of thought and it has been a difficult decision which in no way reflects on the capabilities of the current Leadership Team. However, it is vital that the identified factors are addressed and the need for change is embraced to assist Stuartholme School in continuing to improve on our level of service to our school community.

The current Leadership Team operates with a Principal, four Deputy Principals and two Directors, which is not a standard structure for a School with only 700 students.

The new Leadership Team structure consists of one Deputy, a Commercial Director and three Dean positions – Mission, Student Wellbeing and Boarding. The Deputy Principal will be responsible for two portfolios – Staff and Learning. It is my firm belief that we cannot separate building Staff capabilities from strengthening teaching practices in the classroom. A School Operations role will manage the day-to-day operational running of the School.

I want to reassure you that this process will not impact directly on the students, but will make a positive difference to their teaching and learning behind the scenes.

I will provide further information to you as this process is finalised and staff appointments are made.

Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at

God bless and take care,

Kristen Sharpe
