Lions Youth of the Year

On Saturday 11 March, Sarah Long, Year 12, participated in the Regional Final of Lions Youth of the Year at Windsor.  Lions Youth of the Year is a program designed to encourage, foster and develop leadership in conjunction with public speaking abilities in young people.  Participants are required to participate in an interview where they are questioned on their general knowledge and current affairs prior to the public speaking section of the program. In the public speaking portion they are required to answer two impromptu questions and give one five minute prepared speech.

In order to progress to this level of the competition Sarah had to beat other contestants at a Club and Zone level.  Unfortunately Sarah was not able to progress past the Regional level but we are incredibly proud of her efforts, getting further than any Stuartholme student has in many years.
