Interhouse Music Festival – Solo Music Awards

 Changes to the Vocal Section

After due consideration, it has been decided that all singers will be permitted to enter the Vocal Section, even if they are not taking private voice lessons.

These students must contact either Andrew Mear, Leader of the Arts – Co curricula, or Danika Saal, Classroom Music Teacher and Choir/Stuartholme on Stage Conductor, to discuss their repertoire and have their application form signed.

Due to this late change, the cut-off date will now be Wednesday 17 May.

The Annual Solo Music Awards will be held on Sunday 28 May, commencing at 10am. All students who undertake private music lessons, either at Stuartholme or externally, are invited to perform at this event.

The performance sections are as follows:

Junior (Years 7 – 9)

Senior (Years 10 – 12)

Section Categories:
Voice:  Art Song; Musical Theatre; Jazz Standard; Contemporary
Piano:  Baroque, Classical, Romantic; Contemporary
Strings:  Baroque, Classical, Celtic
Percussion & Guitar:  Classical, Contemporary, Jazz
Instrumental:  Classical, Contemporary, Jazz

All participants will earn 5 points towards the Inter-House Music Festival Trophy presented at the Choral Competition. Trophies and/or certificates will be awarded in each category and additional house points will be allocated as follows:

First Place: 40 points
Second Place: 30 points
Third Place: 20 points
Highly Commended: 10 points
