On Monday evening 14 November, Year 9 Geography students presented the findings of their Geography research to their parents. Students had conducted inquiries into issues relating to food production and its impact on the environment and/or globalisation and interconnectedness.
The research project emphasised collaborative research skills; communication and presentation skills, including the use of technology; personal creativity and problem solving. It encouraged the students to take personal responsibility for their learning. The girls assumed the role of an expert and answered questions from the parents as they circulated around the many exciting exhibits.
We would like to thank all the parents and staff who attended the exhibition on the night; the girls who courageously answered the questions posed by the parents and teachers; and the library staff for assisting us in the research process and accommodating us in their wonderful space.
Mrs Wendy Bolton, Mr Michael Elliott and Mr Kristian Guivarra.
