Emily Rink, Year 12, who currently competes in both 1 and 2 Star levels of Eventing, was invited to take part in this years’ Triequithon at Doomben with her thoroughbred Rosthwaite Venice Beach on Saturday 25 March.
Described as the 20/20 of Eventing, the Triequithon combines all the excitement and athleticism of the Olympic sport of Eventing with the thrill of thoroughbred racing.
Competitors were invited to take part in a shortened version of the usual Eventing format which involves the three disciplines of Dressage, Cross Country and Show Jumping.
All the event riders had to compete on ‘off the track’ thoroughbreds, showcasing the versatility of this very capable breed of horses.
In some very elite company, Emily did extremely well, achieving 4th place overall. Congratulations Emily and wishing you every success with this sport in the future.
