Equestrian Report

The team have had two very busy weekends in succession, both of which were highly successful and very enjoyable.

In preparation for the Interschool State Titles in Toowoomba from Sunday 25 to 28 June the team held a training camp at the Queensland State Equestrian Centre (QSEC). The riders had packed schedule of training on both days as the coaches, Leasa Steven and Mel Vandenberg, prepared them for their Dressage and Show Jumping disciplines. After a full day, everyone appreciated the excellent spit roast cooked by Nick Ballard on Saturday night.

The team have put in their nominations for State’s 1 (Dressage, Show Horse, Show Jumping and Show Man) and are now waiting to see if their individual results since July 2016 will gain them a place. All the very best to you all.

The weekend before camp the parent committee hosted a two-day competition at the Moggill Pony Club grounds for Dressage and Show Jumping. Over the weekend we had 85 riders and approximately 123 horses competing. A sincere thank you to all the parents for their contribution and involvement and also to Liz Owens and Monique Searle for convening the disciplines, Sue Cameron for an excellent and innovative delicious canteen and Grant Ciocarelli for some wonderful photos.

The Team had a tremendous weekend with a high degree of individual and team success.
