Equestrian Report

A great weekend camp was had by all members at the Burpengary Equestrian centre for the first full camp of the year. For once, the weather was extremely kind if not just a bit warm, however we have battled through heavy weather in the past so it was a pleasant change.

There were a number of highlights which made the camp very enjoyable and successful. We introduced a new member to the team, Hannah Cioccarelli, her horse ‘Scout’ and the Cioccarelli family. Claire Abercrombie was unfortunately unable to attend but we will see her at competitions throughout the season.

The coaching was extremely effective with Leasa, Lesley and Mel once again demonstrating their expertise and innate care of the riders and parents. The lessons started early and finished late so everyone was well catered for.

The social aspect of the weekend was, as usual, integral to the enjoyment of the camp with numerous games and activities for the riders and parents. Apple bobbing competitions seem to be the key to developing competitive spirit in everyone in this sport!

Thank you to everyone for making it such an enjoyable weekend, I know you are looking forward to the next camp at QSEC later in the year.

The Team is preparing for our Stuartholme Day at Fig Tree Pocket on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 April.  The community is invited to come and support the team on both days and to meet the horses and riders.

The Regional Titles follow soon after at the end of April at Beaudesert and this is a major event for all the Stuartholme riders.

All the best for all the riders in their current competition season.
