Equestrian News

The majority of the team competed at events during the holidays with a number of state qualifications being achieved. The inclement weather  made it difficult as competitions were cancelled due to grounds being unsuitable and unsafe. The impacts of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Debbie forced the Stuartholme competition to be abandoned, however we are aiming to reschedule the Dressage component for Saturday 3 June to allow Interschool riders the chance to gain more qualifiers. Our annual Show Jumping event will be on Sunday 4 June, making it a full weekend.

South East Queensland Regionals

This event over the May Day long weekend in Beaudesert is the annual big event for the area and also for the team. The full team will be competing in five disciplines – Combined Training, Dressage, Show Horse, Show Jumping and Showman.

We wish the riders every success and thank the parents for their support over the three days of competition. All the very best also to Michelle Beatty and Sharon Baker for the Showman Event which they are convening on the Monday.

Aquis and Kings competitions results.

The annual Aquis Event attracts the top Australian show jumpers to one of the biggest events on the Show Jumping calendar and was fortunately also an Interschool State qualifier for 2017. A couple of the team competed over the weekend enjoying success in very elite company.

Piper Searle achieved 3rd place and Bella Anthony (in the photo below) achieved 12th in their respective classes. This was great preparation for the Regional event this coming weekend in Beaudesert.

Kings also had an event. Unfortunately, they were supposed to host it at the lovely Mudgereeba PC grounds but the cyclone devastated them, however Kings College managed to run a smaller event nearby.

Congratulations to our riders who came home with some wonderful results in the Combined Training discipline and who are also competing at Regionals this weekend.

Ellie Turnbull overall 1st 95cms; Bella Anthony 2nd /4th 95 cms; Remy Conescu overall 1st 80 cms and 4th 60cms; Aalia Luchetta overall 5th 60 cms.

Well done to everyone and the very best of riding to the whole team at the South East Queensland Regional Event this coming long weekend in Beaudesert. Supporters are always welcome it is not too far to come !
