Debating News

On Sunday 11 September debaters from Years 10-12 at Stuartholme participated in the 2nd annual Queensland Debating Union (QDU) Women’s Debating Championships.

In the past, female debaters have had less access to additional debating opportunities and this has led to an under representation of female debaters at a state and national level.  This competition aims to address this by providing young women another opportunity to debate and improve the equality of opportunity between the genders.

The day was held at QDU and from all reports the debaters that attended had a fantastic day and improved their debating skills as a result.

Special congratulations  to Georgia Perrisinotto for winning the best speaker in Year 10 for the tournament.  The future is bright for Stuartholme debating.
